Biodegradable Bamboo Toothbrush & Tube
They say that every plastic toothbrush you've ever used is still out there, in a landfill or the ocean. Plastic takes decades to break down. So I got to thinking... there's got to be a better way! And then I came upon these biodegradable toothbrushes that are made from bamboo which is a sustainable material that grows relatively quickly in China and parts of Asia.
The brush has soft nylon bristles for gentle brushing. Dentists recommend that toothbrushes should be replaced every three months. Once the bristles start to bend and lose their form, the brush should be replaced. The wavy handle is solidly strong and ergonomic; it feels comfortable and sturdy in your hand. After brushing, rest the brush horizontally on the counter or the edge of a cup to allow it to air dry fully and prevent damage to the bamboo.
At the end of its life, use pliers to remove the nylon bristles which are not compostable and should be discarded with regular garbage. The bamboo shaft should be discarded in the Green Bin or compost. Et voila! No plastic toothbrush will be floating around in the sea for decades to come.
